Sacraments
Within our Religious Education Program, students are prepared for
the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist. In Reconciliation
and First Eucharist, the parents are asked by the Church to take
the lead in sharing its teachings about Reconciliation and Eucharist
with their children. For many parents, this is a scary thought!
But our experience over the years has proven that it not only can
be done, but is one of the most meaningful faith experiences families
ever have. It will update your adult understanding of our faith
and help you to treasure gifts from God that we all too often take
for granted. The Holy Trinity Parish Staff is here to help you;
we want to support you in your responsibility and assist you with
a series of meetings and materials that will enable you to work
with your child.
It is important for the parents to understand, that before a child
can receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist,
that they be enrolled in the Sacramental Programs whose dates and
times are shown below. Simply sending your child to classes on Sunday,
is not enough preparation to receive these Sacraments. They must
be enrolled in the Sacramental Programs and fulfill all requirements.
First Eucharist Meetings 2011 for Parents/Guardians - On January 13 and 20, 2011, we will hold two mandatory meetings to begin preparation for the Sacrament of Eucharist for Students in Grades Two and above who have not celebrated the Sacrament and are attending the Holy Trinity Religious Education Program or attending a Catholic School and registered at Holy Trinity.
